0< /i>
Headache after sports is quite common. But this does not mean that you have to put up with it! Here's how to get rid of it and get more pleasure from training.
What is it?
This type of headache occurs during or after intense sports activities. It is felt both on the right and on the left, unlike a migraine, and usually this pain is pulsating. There are two types of pain: primary pain lasts from 5 minutes to 48 hours, secondary pain lasts longer and is much stronger. A headache can be accompanied by loss of consciousness, nausea, double vision.
What does a headache signal?
As a rule, due to the intensity of training. It does not occur after running or cycling. In addition, a change in altitude, dehydration, heat, humidity and a drop in blood sugar can have an effect.
How to avoid pain?
Experts recommend taking painkillers an hour before training. But if you, for example, exercise almost every day and a headache is your constant companion, it is worth checking other conditions and causes, and not constantly taking pills. Maybe this type of training doesn't suit you and you should replace it with another type of exercise, reduce the intensity, or maybe you don't drink enough water or don't eat properly. During sports, it is equally important to breathe correctly, at a calm pace, without delays. Make the main effort on exhalation. Do not skip the warm-up.
If the headache does not go away, first, try to reduce the intensity and frequency of training.
