Spring planting of cucumbers: what to add to the hole
1
It is better to prepare not only holes for cucumber planting, and the entire garden. Through research, it was found that cucumbers are able to absorb any organic matter with appetite. Therefore, the ridges under them are filled thoroughly. Pits are dug with a depth of at least 40 cm, and they are filled with various waste, from branch clippings to rotting straw and weeds.
Details
Ammonium nitrate will help to compost plant residues better. – it is added in a small amount.
It would be good to pour some superphosphate from the bottom of the pit. Over time, the granules almost do not “creep” into the lower layers of the soil, and when the roots grow, they will be very “happy” with such support.
The finished bed is poured abundantly with water, achieving compaction, and left for 14 days to the earth settled well.
In fact, you can add anything from fertilizers to the holes with cucumbers. But potassium will bring the greatest benefit.
With its lack, cucumber leaves begin to dry on both sides, and the processes themselves will “hook” in the future. Such a nuisance can be eliminated only by applying potash fertilizers. Potassium sulfate works best.
Often, complex fertilizers, which mainly consist of nitrogen, but are supplemented with other elements, are simply spread over the holes. For example, the same azophoska.
These components are convenient because their dosage is correctly calculated by the manufacturer, that is, you will not have to “magic” yourself over the rates of fertilizers, which will save you from overdose and deficiency of substances. The results of their use are stable and good.
And it is not superfluous to add urea directly to the planting holes.
When it is simply spread over the surface of the ridge, almost all nitrogen will disappear, which will not happen, if it is introduced deep into the ground. Yes, urea will give all the benefits to the seedlings.
Actually, this is the most economical and high-quality application. However, it is worth knowing that the granules should not come into contact with young roots.
They are scattered on the bottom and covered with a five-centimeter layer of soil, and seedlings are already planted on top. Otherwise, burns are possible.
