Study: Doctors continue to treat with methods recognized as ineffective

The authors of a new study claim that doctors around the world continue to use a large number of ineffective treatment methods in their practice.

The results of a study conducted by scientists from three American universities – Oregon Health & Science University, the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Chicago.

These experts concluded that doctors practice several hundred (!) treatment methods recognized as ineffective in clinical trials.

Before coming to such a conclusion In conclusion, the authors of the new work analyzed reports of 3,000 studies published over a fifteen-year period in three leading global medical journals – the Journal of the American Medical Association, the Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine.

As a result, they identified 396 treatments that were found to be ineffective or insufficiently effective by the studies they studied in their project.
