Symptoms of diabetes: the nighttime signs of high blood sugar are named

In diabetes of the second type symptoms are often absent until the blood sugar level becomes consistently high. Usually, the disease is discovered accidentally, because of which the time for treatment is often missed. As a result, the condition worsens and warning signs begin to appear.
“If your blood sugar level is high at night, you may experience symptoms of hyperglycemia,” the doctor warned. These symptoms include:
- poor sleep;
- frequent awakenings to go to the toilet or drink water;
- headache;
- nausea.

Although blood sugar levels can rise at night, this rise is rarely significant enough to cause harm to the body. Hyperglycemia is known for its ability to damage nerves and blood vessels. In severe cases, diabetic neuropathy can develop, which leads, among other things, to amputation.
