Tactile hallucinations can signal a fatal disease

In some cases, tactile hallucinations can be cancer, warn specialists.

Tactile hallucinations are not among the most common health problems, but they add to the list of hallucinatory sensations that can touch all the senses and are found in a large number of people. Speaking about how tactile hallucinations are revealed, psychologist Yuliya Zotova clarified in an interview that “this syndrome is manifested by physical touches that are not there in reality, and various unpleasant sensations in the internal organs and on the skin.”

Zotova emphasized that the phenomenon of hallucinations cannot be controlled by will, and the degree of their expressiveness can be different.

“One may be haunted by the feeling as if someone is crawling on the body or tickling.”

In more severe cases people may feel like insects or worms are moving under their skin. Such hallucinations can signal a fatal disease, the doctor noted.

“The presence of tactile hallucinations can signal the development of tumor processes.”

Also, Zotova added, this problem can be a sign of neurological diseases, psychological problems, addiction (for example, medicinal, narcotic). If hallucinations occur, you should consult a neurologist, psychiatrist or oncologist, the expert said.
