Hypertension is one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. As experts explained, with high blood pressure, the walls of blood vessels are in constant tension, due to which they begin to narrow and limit the flow of blood to vital organs.
As a result, the risk of heart attack and stroke increases several times.
However, this process can be reversed by changing lifestyle and diet in particular. Scientists have discovered several products that can help in the prevention of the disease.
“Chinese oolong tea, prepared from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, falls into this category,” the publication writes.
In the study , the results of which were published in the journal JAMA Network, studied the ability of oolong to affect high blood pressure. 1507 people took part in the experiment. As a result, it was established that for those who drank at least 120 ml of this tea per day for a year, the risk of hypertension decreased by 46%. And for those who drank from 120 to 599 ml of the drink per day, the risk decreased by 65%.
