The 3 emotions that are most detrimental to health

The ability to maintain an even mood is not in vain considered a trait of long-livers. Scientists have named emotions, a tendency to which undermines health and threatens life.

Anger. This emotion provokes a surge of chemicals in the body, including adrenaline and noradrenaline. With a weakened cardiovascular system, an imbalance of these hormones can cause the development of heart problems, up to and including heart attacks. Studies have shown that two hours after an outburst of anger, the likelihood of a heart attack increases by almost five times, and a stroke by three times.

Shock. The consequences of shock can be both short-term and long-term. For example, as a result of the shock experienced, changes in brain structures may occur, the manifestation of which is post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in a person. This can lead to problems with sleep and eating, sexual dysfunction, chronic pain, and behavioral disorders.

Anxiety. The spectrum of anxiety disorders is quite wide and includes a variety of disorders. One of the most well-known is panic disorder, in which a person experiences attacks of acute fear and anxiety combined with somatic manifestations – palpitations, dizziness, a feeling of lack of oxygen and a heart that jumps out of the chest.
