Longevity and health depend on our diet I, which many have known for a long time. But there are certain foods that also prolong youth.
Soybeans. A staple of Asian cuisine for generations, they are rich in isoflavones, a type of phytoestrogen. Isoflavones have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-cancer and antimicrobial properties. So, they can help regulate the body's inflammatory response and slow down cellular aging, also protecting against certain types of cancer.
Carrots. One of the most popular vegetables in Ukraine and many other countries of the world, known for its high content of beta-carotene. This carotenoid pigment gives carrots their orange color. In our body, beta-carotene is transformed into vitamin A, which is involved in immune function, vision processes, reproduction, and cellular communication.
Our body cannot produce this vitamin on its own, and it must be obtained with food. Studies have shown that foods rich in carotenoids protect against age-related retinal degeneration or vision impairment caused by old age.
Cruciferous vegetables.Another important type of food that includes broccoli, radishes, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and white cabbage.
All of them are rich in nutrients, including many vitamins, minerals and carotenoids. Cruciferous vegetables contain glucosinolates, which regulate the body's response to stress and inflammation, have antimicrobial properties, and also slow down the aging process.
Salmon. Research shows that if meat causes significant damage to health in the long term, then fish is beneficial.
One of the useful types of fish is salmon, which is rich in proteins and Omega-3 fatty acids. They are associated with brain health, preventing age-related cognitive decline.
Citrus. The last item on our list are the humble heroes of a healthy diet. These are oranges, mandarins, grapefruits, lemons, etc., products that contain a lot of vitamin C – a wonderful antioxidant that reduces inflammatory processes. The fruits contain flavonoids, which significantly increases the life expectancy of a person.
