Coffee in the morning is not just a ritual for pleasure. Scientists have found out that this drink can affect life expectancy.
Researchers from Korea's Chung-Ang University in collaboration with the Korea Agency for Disease Control and Prevention conducted a new study. The scientific work was aimed at a more detailed study of the relationship between coffee consumption and its effects on health.
110,920 people over the age of 40 who were not diagnosed with diabetes, cancer or cardiovascular diseases. Scientists tracked their daily coffee consumption for 9.1 years, as well as their average life expectancy.
The results of the study showed that “the risk of death from all causes decreased by 21% among participants who drank more than three cups of coffee a day. One cup of coffee a day was associated with a 42% reduction in cardiovascular disease mortality.”
