The area of residence affects the sleep of teenagers

According to two studies, living in a noisy neighborhood with less green space plantations negatively affects the sleep of teenagers, which can lead to deterioration of memory and thinking.
When studying the residential environment, researchers found that as the noise level steadily increased, so did the time it took teenagers to fall asleep.< /p>
At the same time, the duration of sleep was lower compared to children living in quieter and greener areas. But as the average number of trees grew, teens fell asleep earlier and slept longer.
“Sleep deprivation for teens is wide-ranging and includes impaired cognitive function and antisocial behavior,” says study author Stephanie Mayne of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
