Researchers also isolated the hormone vasopressin, whose levels increases with dehydration as a possible risk factor for hyperglycemia and diabetes. Increasing water intake may reduce the likelihood of increased vasopressin. Another explanation of the beneficial effect of water is reduced to liquid removal.
