An endocrinologist talked about the vitamins that you need to take to strengthen the health of bones and joints. It is especially important to take care of them in middle and older age.
The right vitamins contribute to the strength and elasticity of bones and joints in the human body, and it is very important to monitor the content of these nutrients in the diet. Vitamins D and K2 come to the fore in this matter, as they are involved in bone building.
According to the doctor, a person should receive at least 500 international units of vitamin D and at least 50 mg of vitamin K per day.
Naturally, calcium is one of the most important minerals for bones. Adults need at least 1,000 mg of calcium, and pregnant women and adolescents need up to 1,500 mg.
At the same time, the average Ukrainian currently receives no more than 400 mg of calcium per day with food, so an insufficient dose can be obtained in the form of food supplements with vitamins and minerals.
Fetisova advised choosing cholecalciferol, the most easily absorbed form of vitamin D, as well as menaquinone-7, which allows you to get the necessary dose of vitamin K2. If you take both of these drugs, you can achieve a balanced calcium content in our body.
