If a person is at risk ischemic stroke, the body can signal the proximity of this fatal disorder.
The development of an ischemic stroke means that there has been a violation of the blood supply to some area of the brain, and the cells of this area have begun to die due to a lack of blood, oxygen and nutrients. Statistically, among all strokes, almost 85% are ischemic.
Medics from China said that the human body can in a certain way warn about the proximity of an ischemic stroke. In an interview with the Sina publication, they listed the warning signs.
Neck stiffness. An immobile, stiff neck is one of the possible predictors of an ischemic stroke.
“If you haven't spent a lot of time in a sitting position, but you feel stiffness and poor mobility of the cervical spine, you can't bend your head so as to reach your lower jaw to your chest,” the doctors told about the features of this condition.
Naughty tongue. In the case of a stroke, the tongue becomes “heavier”, unruly, and this affects speech – a person begins to speak slurred.
“If the tongue begins to tense up and speech becomes slurred, it is more likely that's all, the blood vessels in the brain are already damaged.”
Visual impairment. On the eve of an ischemic stroke, a short-term darkening of the eyes may occur. Such a disturbance may be the result of a thrombosis that has affected the brain stem.
Bleed from the nose. According to experts, pre-intestinal nosebleeds often occur at night.
