For breakfast, many people prefer porridge, muesli or yogurt. However, the nutritionist hastened to warn that the last of the products can be dangerous.
Lauren Manaker said that the use of certain types of yogurt can lead to an increase in blood sugar.
A high blood sugar level can cause health problems, the nutritionist emphasized. “When people often have high blood sugar,” says Manaker, “they are at risk of certain consequences, such as vision problems, kidney disease, and an increased risk of heart disease.”
“The best choice is yogurt , which does not contain added sugars. You can add fresh fruit to it,” advises Manaker. Instead of ordinary yogurt with flavorings, the nutritionist advises to give preference to Greek or Icelandic yogurt – more natural and healthy options.
