According to nutritionist, people 60 years and older must eat berries in the absence of contraindications, this product effectively protects against degenerative vascular processes associated with aging.
The nutritionist explained in an interview why she considers berries a bright coloring is a must-have product for people over 60 years old. The doctor noted that many age-related health problems are closely related to the development of oxidative stress – berries contain substances that prevent this.
“Aging is directly related to a high oxidative process in the body. Therefore, it is necessary to use brightly colored berries with a high content of antioxidants, which will slow it down,” the expert said.
The doctor added that it would be useful for people without gastrointestinal problems to eat half a glass of berries every day. Such a portion will provide the body with the necessary useful substances.
The doctor considers blueberries to be one of the most useful for combating the destructive processes of aging – the use of this berry ensures the prevention of such diseases as cataracts and glaucoma. In turn, raspberries contain acetylsalicylic acid, which helps thin the blood. Strawberries, rose hips, currants, cherries and cherries are also very useful.
The doctor singled out orange and yellow berries separately.
“These berries can protect old people from early aging associated with degenerative changes in the cardiovascular system, prevent oncology,” said the doctor.
