Cardiologist Oleksiy Utin spoke about the results of a study of the impact of television on life expectancy.
It has long been known that a sedentary lifestyle has a detrimental effect on health. In particular, as the doctor explained, the lack of physical activity increases the risks of cardiovascular disasters.
However, as a recent study showed, immobility is also different. So, scientists found out that people who watch TV for more than 4 hours a day are 50% more likely to “earn” a heart attack or stroke than those who spend less than 2 hours on such leisure time or sit at their workplace for 4 hours.
“Give up watching TV yourself and advise your relatives and friends to do it. It's better to spend this time walking in parks, boulevards and avenues,” the expert summarized.
