The doctor recommends not to have the habit of drinking coffee on an empty stomach stomach.
If one starts the day after a night's sleep by first drinking a cup of coffee, it is not coming in the right way. In an interview with nutritionist Iryna Lyzun, advice was given not to drink coffee on an empty stomach – it should be done only after a meal.
Drinking coffee before a person has eaten has a negative effect on the gastrointestinal tract, the doctor explained. According to Iryna Lyzun, under the influence of the drink, the secretion of gastric juice and hydrochloric acid is activated. Their appearance in the stomach, which has not received food, can damage its delicate mucous membrane.
“In people who are prone to high acidity of the stomach, especially with gastritis, it can cause pain, discomfort, heartburn.”

It is also wrong to drink coffee in the afternoon, 3 or 4 hours before bedtime. If there is increased anxiety, which causes problems with falling asleep and sleeping, then it is better to drink it only in the morning, the doctor added.
