According to a nutritionist, the perception people's opinions about healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle are wrong.
The doctor explained why habits that are considered useful and healthy by people may not help – health not only does not improve due to them, but may be undermined. For example, this often happens when citizens, following the idea of a healthy diet, exclude from the diet everything that they think is harmful – as a result, the body does not receive the nutrients it needs.
The doctor gave an example of such a mistake.
“The girl wants borscht, a pie, an apple, but instead she drank empty tea, ate low-fat cheese and went to exercise. As a result, a person starves, and his whole life is dedicated to maintaining an ideal body weight”.
The doctor noticed that many, fearing carbohydrates or carcinogens, refuse sweet or fried food, but at the same time allow themselves alcohol , or do not resist passive smoking. Meanwhile, alcohol makes the liver fat, besides, alcohol is almost the most powerful carcinogen. The doctor assesses the impact of smoking on the body (including passive smoking) as more destructive than the impact of sugar.
The doctor emphasized that “with the help of fictitious restrictions, a person will not get a guarantee that he will be completely healthy – it does not work like that.” .
The doctor specified that health and life expectancy depend on various factors, including genetics, the opportunity to receive good medical care, ecology and much more.
