With the autumn cooling, many who begins to drink hot drinks more often, primarily tea and coffee. A nutritionist and gastroenterologist explained how to make these drinks even more useful.
The expert noted that the benefits of tea and coffee are determined by the content of flavonoids and alkaloids in them – substances that have anti-inflammatory properties.
In order not to harm your health, it is recommended to drink tea or coffee hot, which does not burn, the doctor warned. According to her recommendation, the temperature of the drink should not exceed 65–70°С.
It is also not recommended to add sugar to tea or coffee. The doctor advised honey lovers not to put it in a cup with a drink, but to first eat a spoonful of honey, then drink tea or coffee.
To make tea or coffee more useful for health, the doctor advised adding spices to the drink , which enhance antioxidant properties: ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, orange peel, pepper. In addition to additional benefits, it will give the drink special taste notes.
