Drinking pure water is an easy way to burn more calories, said a nutritionist.
The nutritionist reported on research data that says that drinking water activates metabolic processes, which is why the body spends calories obtained from food more intensively on energy production.
“Half a liter of water increases the metabolic rate by 30 percent, although this effect will only last about an hour,” said the nutritionist.
The doctor specified that taking two liters of water per day can encourage the body to increase the number of calories consumed by 100 kilocalories. According to the doctor, this is comparable to burning calories during a 40-minute walk at a leisurely pace. If you drink enough cool water, the number of calories lost increases.
At the same time, the specialist added, active drinking can increase blood pressure. Such an effect is possible with existing vegetative insufficiency or in old age.
