The doctor said in an interview that vascular stars on the face (couperosis) occur when the vascular walls are very thin – as a result, the blood begins to shine through, causing a characteristic “cobweb” on the skin. The candidate of medical sciences noted that the appearance of such asterisks is observed during the development of a number of diseases.

“Cooperosis is most often observed in patients with endocrine diseases and metabolic problems, for example, with diabetes and gout,” the doctor shared.

Other pathologies in which vascular stars appear on the face are cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases, the doctor continued.
