The doctor named eating habits that have a destructive effect on the kidneys

It has been known for a long time that eating habits and preferences can have an adverse effect on the body. Moreover, as claimed by the doctor of the Harlazin Clinic in Munich, Clemens Cohen, there are a number of dietary habits that have a negative effect on the kidneys, gradually destroying them.

The first such habit, the specialist calls the frequent consumption of salty food. A large amount of salt, he noted, puts a heavy load on the kidneys, which makes it difficult for them to completely clean the blood of sodium chloride. It is not for nothing that experienced nutritionists strongly recommend limiting salt consumption to 5-6 grams per day. There is especially a lot of salt in ready-made products: in sausage products and even in bread.

Another factor capable of gradually destroying the kidneys is the consumption of products containing phosphates. This mineral is good for bones, but has a harmful effect on the kidneys. If the level of phosphate in the body exceeds the norm, it overloads the filtering organs and even leads to the deposition of calcium in the blood vessels. Phosphates are found in vegetables and fruits, but in moderate amounts, and therefore do not harm the body. Meanwhile, they are often used as stabilizers and thickeners in finished products: sweet carbonated water, sausage products, processed cheese, and others.

Finally, the doctor emphasizes, excess protein also harms the kidneys. An excessive amount of protein in the body eventually turns into urea, so the kidneys have to remove it from the body with urine. Experts recommend consuming no more than 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. That is, for a person weighing 80 kilograms, the permissible rate is only 64 grams of protein. Meanwhile, only 100 grams of beef meat contains 26 grams of it at once. But in 100 grams of yogurt – only 5.
