Meat, nuts and berries should be included in the diet to prevent joint problems, the orthopedist said.
The doctor noted in an interview that the products consumed significantly affect the condition of the joints, ligaments and cartilage, which ensure their motor activity.
“Food should contain a large amount of trace elements, vitamins, collagen, nutrients and immunostimulating substances,” the doctor said.
The orthopedist reported that to maintain healthy joints, it is important to consume seafood – fish, seafood, seaweed. According to the specialist, such food contains high doses of microelements necessary for bones and cartilage, as well as immunostimulating substances.
As for meat, it is more useful to eat lean types.
“The diet should include meat products – poultry and beef, but fatty meat should be excluded,” advised the traumatologist-orthopedist.
In addition, collagen, which is a component of cartilage and tendon tissue, helps to keep joints healthy. Lack of collagen leads to thinning and fragility of cartilage, contributes to the development of arthrosis, which can deform joints.
The orthopedist named the best sources of collagen – these are broths, citrus fruits, berries, beans, garlic, avocados, and the same seafood.
