The doctor spoke about the health benefits of pumpkin

The nutritionist talked about the health benefits of pumpkin. The specialist noted that pumpkin has many beneficial properties, and is especially useful for good sleep, strengthening immunity, preventing vision problems, and regulating blood pressure.

The doctor explained that pumpkin is rich in carotene, 5 times more than carrots. Carotene is responsible for the quality of vision and is a prevention of deviations, and also reduces the risk of developing cataracts.

In terms of immunity, pumpkin is useful for its high content of various types of carotene: both alpha and beta. According to the nutritionist, it is these elements, together with beta-cryptoxanthin, that neutralize free radicals, preventing damage to body cells and the immune system.

Regular consumption of pumpkin promotes the production of serotonin, or the hormone of happiness, which, in turn, affects the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. This is due to the content of the amino acid tryptophan in pumpkin.

The specialist emphasized that regular consumption of pumpkin improves the quality of sleep – the frequency of insomnia is significantly reduced, and after waking up, a person feels cheerfulness and a surge of energy.

Blood pressure is regulated when consuming pumpkin due to the potassium content in the product. This trace element also helps to maintain pressure within normal limits. Pumpkin seeds help produce “good” cholesterol, which the body also needs, including to maintain proper blood pressure.
