Sudden death syndrome is known as a gloomy phenomenon among babies, but adults are also subject to it – in this case, an unexpected cardiac arrest occurs.
Neurologist Serhii Dlin told in an interview about the features that distinguish sudden death syndrome. The doctor reminded that this syndrome sometimes cuts off the lives of very young children – asphyxia occurs in babies without its prerequisites or concomitant signs. That is, the child “simply stops breathing”.
But adults can also suffer from sudden death syndrome, the doctor warned. According to the neurologist, his victims have a cardiac arrest, which is preceded by a violation of his blood supply.
This is a thrombosis of the blood vessels that feed the heart, or a spasm. In any case, it is insufficient blood supply to the muscle that leads to a heart attack,” Serhii Dlin reported.
Why is the blood circulation of the heart muscle disturbed, which causes a person to die?
Dlin noted that one of the factors of susceptibility to sudden acute heart pathologies is heredity, congenital anomalies. It is also affected by existing chronic cardiac and vascular disorders, bad habits, insomnia, and the presence of diabetes. In addition, negative, heavy emotions have a devastating effect on the heart.
“Chronic stress can significantly increase the risk of sudden death,” the doctor stated.
