With regular daytime sleep for a person, the risk of hypertension and stroke may become higher.
According to the publication, researchers representing the American Heart Association (AHA) found that the habit of sleeping during the day can indicate a high risk of stroke.
< p>“Compared to people who never sleep during the day, patients who are used to daytime sleep are 12% more likely to develop high blood pressure and 24% more likely to have a stroke,” Hypertension quotes scientists.
It is reported that the authors of the project analyzed the data of 360,000 people aged 40-69. These people were divided into groups depending on their preference for daytime sleep: never or very rarely sleep during the day, resort to daytime sleep from time to time or during the day constantly.
It was found: people under the age of 60, for who habitually sleep during the day, show a greater susceptibility to vascular problems, including hypertension and the risk of stroke.
“Daytime sleep can worsen the quality of night sleep. This, in turn, leads to a deterioration of health,” experts said about the alleged cause of the connection between daytime sleep and dangerous vascular disorders.
