The immunologist-allergist explained that salt is called “white death” for a reason. If you abuse the seasoning, health problems cannot be avoided.

A huge number of myths have been invented about salt, as a result, some people refuse it altogether, which cannot be done. In fact, this element is vital for our body, but in reasonable quantities.

“I will give you a few facts on the protection of salt so that you understand that we cannot live without it. Salt is involved in the regulation of water-salt exchange, energy exchange inside cells. Without it, the donation of chlorine for the formation of hydrochloric acid in the stomach and the transport of amino acids and glucose into the cell are impossible. Without sodium, there will be no sodium-potassium pump and, as a result, cell life,” the expert explains.

But salt is beneficial to our body only when we use it within reasonable limits. The daily permissible maximum for a healthy person is 25 g. At the same time, it is desirable to lower the limit to 15 g. The body will remove this volume without any problems. Everything above will accumulate and settle on the joints, vessels, etc.

When there is a lot of salt in the body, we begin to suffer from edema, due to the fact that fluid is retained in the body. As a result, pressure increases, blood vessels spasm.

In order for salt to be adequately removed from the body, it is necessary to follow a drinking regimen. Therefore, get used to drinking water, if you don't like it – force it, then it will become a habit.

It is also worth considering that salt can stimulate the appetite. When you don't salt your food at the table, you will eat much less. On average, a person consumes approximately 10 grams of salt per day. A teaspoon without a bitter is left for salting.
