Journalist Siobhan O'Connor decided to check on her own experience what happens to her head after refusing to wash her hair. The experiment turned out to be quite difficult and not without severe consequences for emotional and physical health. The corresponding material is published by The Sun.
Recently, the “No poo” movement against private hair washing using modern shampoos is gaining more and more popularity among supporters of the use of natural remedies. Its ideologues claim that after 4 weeks of refusing this procedure, the condition of the hair improves significantly.
Shibon O'Connor decided to test this theory on her own experience. The girl said that she was warned by a cosmetologist about the possible consequences. On the third day, her hair began to shine with grease, and on the fifth she had to collect it in a ponytail. The skin on the head began to itch, and combing provoked peeling. After a week, any shampoo smell finally disappeared and the hair started to smell like dust.
A week later, people around me started complimenting me on the condition of my hair, but in the last few days, itching and a rash appeared in the forehead area. O'Connor could hardly wait for the end of her daring experiment and was happy to wash her hair, having honestly endured a month without shampoo.
Dermatologist Emma Coleman said that hair washing products, which contain chemicals, really wash away beneficial substances from the skin, therefore, in case of refusal of the procedure, it starts to look better at some point. However, over time, a huge amount of dirt and grease accumulates on the hair, which clogs the pores and prevents growth.
