Scientists believe that some foods can protect against various diseases, significantly prolong life, such as walnuts.
In a study by scientists from the Medical Center of the University of Munich in Germany, which was published in the journal Metabolism , notes that eating walnuts significantly lowered LDL (what some call “bad”) cholesterol and raised HDL (“good”) cholesterol in trial participants.
People with diabetes can regularly eat walnuts, because they contain a large amount of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, say scientists.
So, a study by the American Dietetic Association says that the consumption of nuts is inversely proportional to the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. However, it is important to make sure that you eat this nut in moderation.
