According to the expert, women over the age of 45 and men over the age of 35 are most susceptible to cardiovascular pathologies. Dysfunctions in the vascular system and heart at this age are more severe for people due to natural hormonal changes.
At the same time, the scientist emphasized: today cardiovascular diseases are increasingly common in people younger than the indicated age limits. This is greatly facilitated by inactivity and bad habits that accompany people's lifestyles.
In the list of the most dangerous abnormalities in the work of the heart and blood vessels, arterial hypertension takes first place, followed by atherosclerosis, acute myocardial infarction and ischemia. These diseases are the cause of death in almost 90% of heart patients.
“Prevention remains the most effective means of combating heart attacks and ischemic disease,” the academician noted in this regard.
In particular, the scientist recommends spending 20 minutes on physical exercises every day – this simple measure effectively helps protect the heart, bones and muscles and significantly reduces the risk of heart attack or stroke. It is also very useful to eat two handfuls of nuts every week – the substances and valuable fatty acids contained in them reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases by a quarter. In addition, you need to drink coffee – four cups of the drink a week have a beneficial effect on myocardial cells, stimulating their rapid recovery after damage.
“Eat right, exercise and monitor your health: regularly check your blood pressure, pulse rate, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Yes, it's boring and difficult, but this is the most effective method today,” the expert emphasized.
