Scientists from Harvard Medical School decided to make a rating of the usefulness of cereals. Oatmeal was among the leaders in terms of this indicator, said nutritionist Yulia Chekhonina.
For example, she noted that oatmeal helps to improve the condition of the intestinal microflora, helps in the fight against excess cholesterol and reduces the risk of hypertension. And this is at least what is necessary for good health and longevity.
The second place on the list is occupied by buckwheat porridge with a lower calorie content. Its composition includes dietary fibers, vitamins of group B, and the porridge itself allows you to save energy and maintain endurance.
Flax porridge was also recognized as one of the most useful. According to Chekhonina, this is a plant product containing omega-3, which is necessary for blood vessels and blood circulation. In addition, the porridge contains a large amount of protein compared to other porridges.
“It is also a preventive factor for some malignant diseases, – the nutritionist emphasized, – because it has antioxidant properties, promotes the prolongation of youth and prevents premature aging.”
