The named product is able to prevent heart diseases
Unlike the sweet varieties of chocolate that many of us love, dark chocolate contains more cocoa, which is one of the richest sources of health-promoting compounds called polyphenols. Dark chocolate also contains less sugar, so it has fewer calories, which is much better for your health.
But these are not the only benefits of dark chocolate. In a study, it is said that eating chocolate at least once a week helps reduce the risk of heart disease.
Milk chocolate usually contains about 10 percent cocoa nibs, which is a paste containing both defatted cocoa solids and cocoa butter. Dark (sweetened) chocolate, on the other hand, contains between 35 and 84 percent cocoa solids, while chocolate with a higher cocoa content is classified as unsweetened. In contrast, white chocolate does not contain cocoa solids; its main component is cocoa butter.
Dark chocolate is good for the heart
Dark chocolate and pure cocoa are rich in a certain type of flavonoids called flavonols. In addition to antioxidant properties that protect against free radical damage and prevent inflammation, flavonols also lower blood pressure, improve blood flow to the brain and heart, and reduce the risk of blood clots that can cause heart attack or stroke.
According to Dr. Chayakrit Krittanavong, MD, a fellow at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, chocolate is a functional food that can help maintain heart blood vessel health.
“In the past, clinical studies have shown that chocolate is beneficial. affects both blood pressure and the lining of blood vessels,” says Krittanavong.
