The neurologist explained why it is harmful to eat in front of the TV

A neurologist told how our brain connected with the intestines and why snacking on the go or in front of the TV is extremely harmful to our health.
How often do you sit down at the table to have dinner and simultaneously turn on the TV or scroll through the news feed on your phone? For many, this is an absolute norm – there is also something to do in parallel. It would seem such a time saver! But it wasn't here. In fact, such a habit is very harmful to health.
“There is a food center in the cortex of the brain, we have cortical visual centers. We see food through our eyes. It is important not only to see food, but also to connect the sense of smell and taste buds to create increased activation of the hunger nucleus in the hypothalamus,” says the doctor.
When we turn on the TV and start eating, it is important to remember that that our brain is able to concentrate on one task with maximum productivity. That is, we will switch from the process of digestion to the experience of watching the program.
Perhaps, the program will even make us experience short-term stress (you know what is shown on TV), and stress is a sympathetic nervous system that is not in eats with the digestion of food.
Chewing is regulated by the nervous system, so it starts quickly, but slows down easily. Try to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner consciously and in a hurry. Do not turn food into a background for other parallel tasks.
