The nutritionist explained why melon should never be eaten as a dessert

Summer cannot be imagined without melons and watermelons. These products are permanently associated with sunny days and summer menus. They are eaten just like that, added to cocktails and desserts, frozen, and so on. Meanwhile, you can't compare watermelons and melons, as they are in different categories, the nutritionist said.
The main mistake is to use melon as a snack or as a dessert, says the expert. This melon culture has not only a decent nutritional value, but also a fairly high glycemic index, which means that its consumption with other products will inevitably lead to gaining extra kilograms.
So melon should be eaten only as an independent product and as much as possible away from other meals. Nutritionists also do not advise people prone to overweight and those with impaired carbohydrate metabolism to eat melon.
However, watermelon, on the contrary, can be included in a person's regular diet and is perfect both as a snack and as a dessert, the nutritionist encouraged. Watermelon can be eaten as a snack, if you generally eat right, do not forget about breakfast, lunch and dinner, and include in your diet not only plant, but also animal food. But you shouldn't abuse a snack like watermelon either, the doctor warned: you can eat no more than 300 grams in one sitting.
