A doctor of medical sciences, a nutritionist explained the benefits of cocoa and how to properly prepare this drink.
The expert noted that cocoa gives a feeling of energy thanks to the magnesium contained in it, which regulates the state of the nervous system. In addition, this drink contains B vitamins and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Thanks to this composition, cocoa invigorates without raising blood pressure.
Adults are recommended to prepare cocoa with vegetable milk and not to abuse sugar, the nutritionist said. Children with good tolerance and absence of allergic reactions can make cocoa on cow's milk, honey can be used instead of sugar.
The doctor emphasized that it is important to choose natural cocoa powder from countries where cocoa beans are grown. The specialist noted that cocoa beans are most often supplied from China, where this product is not always processed correctly, various chemicals are used, and flavoring additives are used. Such cocoa will do more harm than good, the expert warned.
