As the nutritionist noted, you should not abuse bran. After all, they swell in the stomach and create a feeling of satiety, but do not provide the caloric content that is needed in the morning. This product should be consumed during breakfast if a person has intestinal problems.
“For every tablespoon of bran, you should drink half a glass of water. Yes, they will swell, they will give a feeling of satiety, but that's it, as they say. Then they will pass with this water into the intestine, make it work, get rid of chronic constipation. And it is better than any laxative. But they will not provide the required calorie content,” the specialist noted.
According to her, rice and semolina porridge also do not contribute to the good functioning of the intestines. The doctor also added that brewing porridge with boiling water in the evening is not the best option. You just need to boil the porridge, and then it “lies quietly for 2-3 days”.
