Eating properly, not giving up favorite foods and not suffering with calorie counting, maybe. For this, it is enough to consume food from five main groups every day: complex carbohydrates, protein, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, as well as fats and butter.

British nutritionist Kerri Major shared relevant recommendations on her Instagram. She emphasized that in order to eat properly:

  • it is not necessary to limit certain foods;
  • it is not necessary to count macros and calories;
  • it is not necessary it is necessary to spend money on detox;
  • you do not need to sit in the kitchen for hours;
  • and the diet should not be boring.

The expert explained that determining the size of one portion of foods rich in complex carbohydrates is very simple: its volume should be comparable to the size of a fist. The same rule applies to foods rich in protein. With an active lifestyle, the portion can be slightly increased.

As for vegetables, the nutritionist advised to count a couple of handfuls or from a third to a half of a plate as one portion, and a medium-sized fruit weighing approximately 80 grams as one portion of fruit. You need to eat five portions of fruits or vegetables every day, and preferably different ones.

A portion of fat or oil, according to Major, is the size of a thumb. However, it is not necessary to include dairy products in every meal, but two or three servings a day are still necessary to meet the body's calcium needs. Their size depends on the specific product.

Let us remind you that previously nutritionists from the USA debunked common myths about healthy eating. For example, many people mistakenly believe that honey and agave syrup are more beneficial than sugar, according to experts. Nutritionists also refuted the statement that food without fat can always be called healthy.
