One of the most important points to note when treating high cholesterol is that there are two types: good cholesterol and bad cholesterol.
Good cholesterol is known as high-density lipoprotein; it improves the general condition of the cardiovascular system and the heart. Bad cholesterol is called low-density lipoprotein, and it forms in the form of plaque. When someone wants to lower their cholesterol, they want to lower this latter form of cholesterol.
One of the best ways to do this, and often the first line of treatment, is through diet. In this regard, there is a debate about whether a person should consume a popular breakfast product – eggs.
Some fear that eating too many eggs will raise cholesterol levels. However, nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee says that eggs are good.
“Eggs are rich in nutrients and very good for health. There are many studies that show that eggs do not increase the risk of heart disease.
In addition, Mukherjee added that one egg a day is suitable for those who lead an active and healthy lifestyle.

- contain good quality protein
- help balance blood sugar
- very good for those who suffers from low blood sugar
- good for those suffering from anemia
- full of essential minerals and amino acids
Also experts recommend eating more fatty fish, brown rice, bread, pasta, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables. They can help lower cholesterol and lead to a healthier lifestyle. Quitting bad habits, such as smoking and reducing alcohol consumption, is also helpful. Exercise plays its role: the more active a person is, the more calories he burns.
