Many Ukrainians used to store medicine on the shelves in the refrigerator door, but this is a dangerous option. The candidate of medical sciences told about this.

The specialist warned against storing medical drugs in the refrigerator door, explaining that when it is opened, there is a temperature difference. This negatively affects the properties of medicines.

In addition, the close proximity of pharmaceuticals and food products carries a certain risk: vapors from medicines can get on food, which is unacceptable.

One more thing a mistake that some people make when storing medicine is using lockers in the bathroom. In movies and series, it is not uncommon to show how the characters take pills or drops from such a cabinet in the bathroom and take them while looking at themselves in the mirror. However, in real life, this is an undesirable option, the doctor said.

The expert explained that the bathroom is an environment with high humidity, and in the instructions for any medicine it is written that the humidity during its storage should be normal.

In order to determine the storage conditions of the drugs, you should carefully read the instructions for them. At home, it is usually recommended to keep medicines in closed, but well-ventilated rooms. If the drug needs a lower storage temperature, it should be stored in an airtight container and then placed in the refrigerator.
