The plank exercise is one of the most popular – a person needs to support their body parallel to the floor, leaning on their arms folded at the elbows. Many women consider the plank to be one of the best ways to achieve a slim waist and a toned stomach.
But the osteopath's comment warned that performing such an exercise can seriously harm the body.
“In the plank, we stand on our hands, the body is not designed for this. Moreover, such an exercise can contribute to the prolapse of internal organs,” the specialist warned.
The doctor reported that there is evidence that women may experience a protruding abdomen during systematic performance of the “plank.”
According to the specialist, the lateral “plank” is safer for the body, but the doctor does not recommend performing it to everyone. In any case, the “plank” is an exercise that carries certain risks. You need to perform such an exercise with great caution – just wanting to do it is not enough.
