The popular drink damages the brain and leads to deterioration of cognitive abilities

Availability mild cognitive impairment exposes the adult generation to a higher risk of brain damage. This happens when people don't give up alcohol.

If the damage is severe, alcohol-related dementia, also known as Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome, can develop.

Alcohol abuse can lead to memory problems. As a result, the confabulation syndrome is formed. In this case, the gaps are filled with false memories.

Another telltale sign of alcoholic dementia is a person's inability to remember new information or learn new skills. Also, alcoholic dementia leads to personality changes. It is about apathy, excessive talkativeness or obsessive repetition of actions.
