When you look at a pot that you really like, you want to plant something in it. At this moment, you need to think about how appropriate it is for a particular plant to be transplanted. Especially when the pot is larger than its size.
The danger of a large pot
For many plants, there are recommendations for choosing the capacity in which they should grow. It is preferable to plant them in pots either according to the size of the root system, or in smaller ones. You should not plant in large and deep ones, that is, with a margin of volume.
Growers explained that the problem may be with the root system. Small indoor plants will not be able to grow it in sufficient volume to fill the ground and free space. This will lead to soil compaction, and then to root rot.
When transplanting plants, do not forget to make a drainage layer under the soil. To root faster and reduce the risk of rotting, water the plant with a solution containing Trichoderma.
