The secret to a happy marriage from a couple who have lived together for almost 70 years

They both love music, dancing, and wearing the same colors — and they've been together for almost seven decades.

Howard and Geneva Culley from Toledo, Ohio, USA, celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on January 12, surrounded by friends and family.

Geneva and Howard started dating in 1951, when they were both 19 years old. They went on their first date to the park, and about a year later they got married.

From the very beginning, they dressed in the same colors and style – so much so that friends even dubbed them “twins.”

Geneva and Howard also wore the same colors at their 68th wedding anniversary party. They chose red and black.

Their secret to a long marriage may surprise you (or maybe not, because it's almost banal, but always wise).

“Keep your mouth shut. Be very careful what you say. It's better to remain silent than to regret it later and say, 'I'm sorry for what I said,' because you already said it,” Howard Culley noted.

“That's right. “Keep your mouth shut so you don't hurt with your words,” Geneva added.

The couple are now in their 80s, but they are confident that they still have years of happy married life ahead of them.
