The following components are required for preparation:
- strawberries – 1 kg;
- granulated sugar – 400 g;
- citric acid – 1 tsp;
- sugar for rolling.
How to cook
For candied fruits, you need clean, large and tasty berries. Sprinkle them with sugar in the amount of 200 g with citric acid. When the berries release juice, they need to be placed on a clean baking sheet in one layer. Pour in the juice. Sprinkle with the remaining 200 g of sugar.
Send to the oven at a temperature of 200 degrees. When the mass boils, turn the temperature to 180 degrees. Hold for 20 minutes and remove the baking sheet. While the berries are hot, roll each one in sugar. Place on foil in 1 layer. The berries should dry out.
After a day, bring the remaining syrup to a boil. Dip each berry in it and spread it out on the foil again to dry out the berries. Ready berries can be stored in a cardboard box. Enjoy!
