The Supreme Council of Justice allowed the mobilization of a judge who became famous due to a “drunk” road accident in Kyiv
The members of the disciplinary chamber of the High Council of Justice allowed the mobilization the judge of the Desnyan Court of Kyiv Svitlana Kolegaeva and during the martial law stopped the disciplinary case regarding her drunken traffic accident on Pryrichnaya Street.
There is no evidence that the metropolitan judge was mobilized and is at the training ground.
Back in the summer of 2021, judge Svitlana Kolegaeva, in a state of alcohol intoxication, flew onto the sidewalk in an Audi car, nearly hit people, knocked down a pole, and crashed into a tree. The accident with the judge happened in the Obolon district of the capital, at Pryrichnaya Street, 27.
The court found Kolegaeva guilty of drunk driving: a fine of UAH 17,000 and a one-year suspension of driving licenses. Also, the then Minister of Internal Affairs, Denys Monastyrskyi, filed a complaint with the High Council of Justice to assess the offense committed by the judge.
The Center for Combating Corruption was informed about the suspension of the case and the consent to the mobilization of Judge Kolegaeva.
According to their data, this decision was unanimously supported by all members of the third disciplinary chamber of the High Council of Justice.
“A few days ago she (Svitlana Kolegaeva, editor) decided to mobilize. Accordingly, she asked the VRP to suspend the consideration of the disciplinary case against her for the duration of martial law. Despite the fact that the lawyer did not provide evidence that Kolegaeva was really mobilized and was at the training ground, the members of the Third Disciplinary Chamber of the Ukrainian People's Republic of Ukraine unanimously granted the judge's request,” the Anti-Corruption Center reported.
Also, the Center added that Kolegaeva will continue to retain the status of a judge and continue to receive a judge's remuneration . Last year, she earned UAH 1.3 million.
