The surgeon explained which shoes can deform the foot

The surgeon explained that high-heeled shoes, as well as narrow and poorly reinforced shoes, can deform the foot. The vascular surgeon spoke about the health hazards of high-heeled, poorly reinforced and narrow models of shoes.

The consequence of wearing such shoes can be the formation of “bumps” or “bones” on the foot – hallux valgus deformity of the big toe. Such shoes should be avoided primarily by those who have had a similar pathology in their relatives.

According to the doctor, high-heeled shoes can also lead to “hammer-shaped deformation of the big toe, when the phalanx takes a bent position, resembling a hammer.”

The doctor also noted that narrow shoes – ballet flats or pumps and similar models – squeeze the foot and do not allow the load to be distributed correctly. This can also provoke deformation. Wearing models with weak reinforcement can also lead to the same results.
