The type of food that is dangerous for breakfast after the age of 40 has been named

People over 40 should avoid refined foods with low fiber levels, nutritionists believe.

The choice of products for breakfast affects weight, waist size, and health. According to data, this effect becomes especially significant after the age of 40. Nutritionists who appeared on its pages advised people of this age to abandon the use of certain types of products for breakfast.

These are refined products that contain very little or virtually no fiber. For example, these include pastries and other products made from white flour, instant cereals.

“Fiber supports intestinal health, helps regulate blood sugar levels and allows you to stay full longer – all this contributes to healthy weight loss. Products from processed grains that are devoid of it are a bad choice for overall health, especially if you need to lose a few pounds,” the nutritionists explained.

According to one of them, Dr. Allison Sizemore, all kinds of sugary cereals pose a particular health risk. Eating them leads to a spike in blood glucose levels, and constant breakfasts with such products make the body resistant to insulin, prone to weight gain and the development of type 2 diabetes.

The nutritionist gave advice: if a product without fiber is consumed, it should be combined with protein or a product containing fiber – this avoids sharp spikes in blood sugar.
