1. “The main thing is not what I lost”

“In times of adversity, we often pay attention to everything bad. Instead, it is better to focus on what we managed to save. This is of great importance! Studies show that forming gratitude improves our well-being,” the author of the book writes.

2. “There is no perfect path”

“When you complain about things not going the way you expected, you risk getting stuck in a negative cycle. Life always has unexpected twists and turns. Accept that and try to overcome the obstacles. Think of an achievement or outcome that can bring you happiness,” Mautz says.

3. “Ignore it”

“Tell yourself, ‘Let it be, let it be.’ This is a cognitive acceptance that will help you get out of the downward spiral. Don’t try to push something bad out of your mind or change your attitude. Let go of the event. Recognize and accept that your emotions are an appropriate response, but focus on how to move forward,” advises Scott.
