These seven healthy habits will reduce your risk of developing dementia

A new study that followed women for 20 years found that just seven habits help reduce a person's likelihood of developing dementia.

There are seven factors for brain and cardiovascular health. These factors are also known as the “7 simple rules of life”.

Among them are physical activity, proper nutrition, maintaining a healthy weight, quitting smoking, maintaining normal blood pressure, controlling cholesterol levels, and low blood sugar levels.

The new study involved 13,720 women. Their average age at the start of the study was 54 years. After 20 years, 1,771 people (i.e. 13%) developed dementia.

The risk of developing senile dementia in each participant decreased by 6% with an increase in the overall score by 1 point (the more points, the more factors the participants adhered to).
