This bad habit accelerates the aging of our body

The more time you spend sitting, the older you look. A study has shown that a sedentary lifestyle can be as dangerous to your health as smoking.

American scientists have published the results of a study that showed how a sedentary lifestyle affects residents of different countries. This is one of the largest observations on this issue, but it is far from the first to reveal the sad truth. Unfortunately, many people who hardly ever get up from their office chair or home sofa absolutely do not want to hear it.

The study showed that sitting for long periods of time every day and without breaks accelerates the aging of our bodies. It should be noted that sedentary work has always posed a health threat. But since the beginning of the pandemic, working from home has become more common, and therefore dangerous, as people have completely stopped moving and do not even go to work.

The study showed that in all groups studied, more time spent sitting led to a higher risk of health complications. If we spend 6 to 8 hours a day sitting, the risk of heart disease and premature death increases by 12-13%, compared to people who sit for less than 4 hours a day. After all, many of us do not get up for 10 or 12 hours. In this regard, smoking has almost the same harmful effect on our health as our favorite sofa.
